Committal Services for Alberta May Klump Held Here Monday

Committal services for Mrs. Alberta May Klump, wife of C. E. Klump, who passed away at her home at Blue Earth, Minn., December 30, were held at the graveside in the Nevada cemetery, Monday afternoon at 1:30 with Rev. O. F. Cooley of the Nevada Methodist church in charge.

Funeral services had been held at the Conings Chapel at Blue Earth on Sunday at 2:30 with Rev. Edward Martin of the Blue Earth Methodist church in charge.

Following the service there the funeral party accompanied the body to Nevada over the Rock Island.

Alberta May Foote-Klump was born June 27, 1872 at or near Urbana, Ill., the child of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Foote. In her early years she came with her parents to Iowa, residing at Gilman, then at Des Moines where the attended school then later to a farm in Marshall county bordering the college town of LeGrand. At this latter town she completed her education. In 1895 the family moved to Rockwell City.

On September 27, 1897 at Rockwell City she was united in marriage to Charles Eugene Klump, a newspaper man from LeGrand and former schoolmate. After several years residence in LeGrand, Mr. and Mrs. Klump moved to Nevada, Iowa, and in 1913 came to the present farm home west of Blue Earth, Minnesota, where they have resided ever since.

Throughout her life Mrs. Klump has been active in the Methodist church where she held her membership. At LeGrand she was the organist and choir leader, active in Epworth League work, and always considerate of the needs of others. She made friends easily and gave all she had and could do as her strength permitted, constantly thinking of ways of helping others wherever she was.

She passed away December 30, 1943 at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 3 days. Death had been preceded by a lingering illness of nearly two years.

She is survived by her husband, one son, Frank, at home, a daughter, Mrs. F. C. Rich of Fairmont, Minn., five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
