Rites for Mrs. Stone will be Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Carl Stone, 1311 J. Avenue, Nevada, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ryan Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stone, 72, died at 1 p.. Friday* at the Story County Hospital after an illness dating back to April of 1968.
The daughter of Samuel and Minnie Hanson, Mable V. Hanson was born April 13, 1896 at Collins. She was married to Carl E. Stone July 27, 1921 at Nevada. Mrs. Stone was a member of the Methodist Church of Nevada and held various offices in the church organization. She was also a member of the Soroptimist Club, the S.E.Y. Club and the Order of Eastern Star.
She was a graduate of Northern Iowa University, Cedar Falls.
Survivors include her husband, one son Edward W. of Montclair, N.J.; one daughter, Mrs. Charles E. Kistler, Reading, Pa.; four grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. N.A. Maritz, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. H.E. Upstill of Gilbert, Mrs. Margaret Lomax of Des Moines, and Mrs. Minnie Heintz of Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home Sunday after 3 p.m. and on Sunday evening. The casket will not be opened after the service.
The Rev. Azel L. Smith, assisted by Rev. E. R. Walter, will officiate at the services. Burial will be at the Nevada Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established.
