Robert J. Carlson
March 8, 1905 to March 25, 1997

Robert J. Carlson, 92, of Granger and formerly of Des Moines, died of heart failure on Tuesday, March 25, at Granger Manor Care Center.

He was born in Baltic, Mich., on March 8, 1905. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a 1st Sgt. for the 63rd Fighter Wing. He was awarded one Silver Star and two Bronze Stars. After being in the service, he had lived in Des Moines until moving to Granger for the past year. He married Elouise Jones.

He had worked as a fire inspector fo the U.S. Government, working out of the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. He was retired.

Survivors include a foster daughter, Mary Ellen Conners, of California; and friends, Eldon and Sylvia Frye, of Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his wife Elouise in 1981.

A memorial services with private burial of cremains was planned to be held at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, handled arrangements.
