HEART TROUBLE CAUSED DEATH

JOHN P. HOEL DROPPED DEAD AT HIS HOME YESTERDAY EVENING

While stepping from his chair to his bed as he was about to retire, John P. Hoel, a well known farmer of southeast of the city dropped over dead, about eleven o'clock last night. While he had been subject to spells with his heart for some time, he had not considered the matter seriously and the news of the sudden death is a great shock to his family and many friends.

When in the city Saturday, Mr. Hoel had consulted with his physician and had been admonished against over exertion and warned to give up work or he was doomed to be short lived. Yesterday he did a hard days work, which he followed with a hearty supper. After he had partaken of he evening meal, he complained of great pain and was unable to lie down. He sat up in a chair until about eleven o'clock, which was far after his bed time, when he apparently felt easier and arose and started for his bed. He had taken but a few steps, however, when he toppled over dead.

No definite arrangements have been made regarding the funeral, so far as the place is concerned. The hour will be Friday afternoon at one o'clock and an effort is being made this afternoon to get into communication with Dr. Bunce in Des Moines. In case Dr. Bunce is located and consents to officiate, the services will be held at the Friends church in this city.

The deceased is a man of probably fifty years of ae and leaves besides his wife and several children, one sister and two brothers. He has lived nearly all of his life in or near Nevada and is a man of excellent character. An obituary will be published later.
