Winefred Bishop was born on a farm north of Towenda, Ill., on February 13, 1871. She attended a country school and when her parents moved to Normal she attended the State Norma university for number of years. In 1896 her parents moved to Ames, Iowa, where she met her future husband who had come back from Wanneta, Nebraska, where he had been running a retail lumber yard. Her father had bought a farm north of Nevada so they moved to Nevada.

On January 25, 1900, she marred to A. C. Kingsbury. Her husband had a position as manager of the Wisconsin Lumber Company at Renwick, Humboldt County, Iowa. They resided at Renwick ten years when they moved to the D. J. Bishop farm of 240 acres in Sec. 1, Sherman township. They resided there for nearly thirty four years when they bought a home on Tenth street in Nevada and moved there December 1, 1943, where they have lived since.

There were three children born to this union, Laurence R., who now lives at Madison, Wisc., and is a salesman for the Lennox furnace company in Marshalltown; Maurice V., who lives on the farm in Sherman Township; and Margaret E. Miller who lives at Sheridan, Wyoming. There are seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

At an early age she gave her heart God and joined the Methodist church. She has been an earnest, consistent Christian ever since.

Tough never strong, she was a good mother always enjoyed doing things for other people.

At the time of her death, January 31, she was 80 years, 11 months and 18 days old. She leaves a bereaved husband and three children to mourn her loss and host of friends.
