Everett Alderman
Nov. 14, 1902 to May 7, 1997

Everett Alderman, 94, of Scott Township, Penn., died of cancer on Wednesday, May 7, at Asbury Heights Nursing Home in Mt. Lebanon, Penn.

He was born to A. Bruce and Gertrude V. (Welty) Alderman in Walker on Nov. 14, 1902. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1921. He earned an A.B. degree in 1929 and an M.A. degree in 1932. He also attended Harvard University. He married Marthe Benzon.

He was vice principal of adult education at Pittsburgh Public Schools and was a professor of psychology at Penn State University, retiring in 1969. He had lived in Pennsylvania for the past 50 years, moving there from Iowa. He was a member of the Fellow of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, and the following professional fraternities: Kappa Phi Kappa, Pi Signa Alpha and Phi Delta Kappa.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

Graveside services were held Monday, May 12, at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Tom Poppe officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the UNI Foundation, 2-5 Commons, Cedar Falls, Iowa 50614. Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home handled arrangements.
