OBITUARY

Bertha May Dial

Bertha May Dial was born September 9th 1891 in Assumption Christian County Ill. When she was 12 years of age she with her parents cam to Boone County Iowa and in March 1908 came with her parent to Story County and settled one and one-half miles north west of Nevada, which has been her home ever since.

It has been her lot to be sufferer all of her life, but she always bore it patiently. In the year of 1904 she was afflicted with Diptheria from which time she has always been under the doctors care. On May 4th 1913 she has a operation for appendicitis but when the incision was made it revealed a condition of tuberculosis of the towels, but she was never aware of of this condition until three weeks before her death when she learned and became reconciled to the awful proposition, and made arrangements for her funeral which were carried out as far as possible. Her death occurred Thursday morning Oct. 16 1913, month and seven days. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. She leaves her Father, Mother, two brothers, two sisters, quite a circle of relatives and a large host of friends to mourn her loss. Interment was in Nevada Cemetery.
