Carrie Nighsonger

Carrie Nighsonger, 86, of 1237 3rd Street, Nevada, died Thursday, June 21 at Story County Hospital in Nevada. She had been ill for the past two days.

Born April 11, 1891 in Story County to John and Sophia Nelson Ingerson, she married Paul Nighsonger in October of 1912 in Nevada.

A life long resident of Story County, she was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church and worked at the Story Hotel Restaurant.

Survivors include on daughter, Pauline Korell; one brother, Glen Ingerson of Nevada; two sisters, Leota Hohn of Nevada; and three grandchildren, Judy McKinney of Ankeny, Shawn Korell and Pat Miller of Boone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sons.

Services will be Saturday, June 23 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Walter E. Lack officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada from Friday morning until time of service.
