Viola Boettcher-Redding, 94, of Nevada, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada.

Viola was born March 31, 1919, in Fedora, South Dakota the daughter of Frank and Emma (Bushman) Smith. She worked as a delivery room nurse for 44 years. Viola loved her family and was an outstanding mother.

Viola is survived by her sons, Kenneth Boettcher of Chippewa Falls, WI and Doug (LaVonda) Boettcher of Blaine, MN; three brothers, Alfred, Donald and Dewane Smith; one sister, Irene Harris; six grandchildren, Sherry, Carolyn, Tres, Katie, Evan and Erica; seven great grandchildren, Brandon, Jace, Allison, Adam, Amanda, Beckett and Jude. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Boettcher and Bud Redding; her parents; her daughter, Norma Jean Parker; one granddaughter; two brothers, George and Robert Smith; and one sister, Lucille.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada, 1418 Fawcett Parkway, with Pastor Scott Milsom officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, at Early Union Cemetery in Early, Iowa.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Viola.
