Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Luis Poblete, 57, of Ames, passed away February 18, 2014, peacefully at home following a courageous seven year battle with cancer. No memorial services are planned at this time. The family will have a private gathering at a date to be determined.

Luis Rodolfo Poblete was born October 18, 1956 to Rodolfo and Betsy Poblete in Lima, Peru. He move to Seattle, Washington where he graduated in 1980 from the University of Washington with a degree in electrical engineering. Luis was a long time employee of The Boeing Company in Seattle. He was a member of Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Sammamish, Washington. Luis's greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He volunteered in the classroom, tutored math and Spanish, coached youth soccer and taught Sunday school. He loved to cook, work in the garden, take photographs, solve Sudoku puzzles, ride his bike and have a good laugh.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Rebecca; his children, Emily and Paul Poblete; his brother, Miguel; his nephew, Sebastian Poblete; devoted family members in the United States and Peru; and many wonderful, caring friends.

His parents preceded Luis in death.
