Rites set for Melvin Wells

Funeral services for Melvin Wells, 70, Nevada, who died Thursday will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from the Cooper Funeral Home, Maxwell.

The Rev. Dale Elsworth, Pastor of the Methodist Church, will officiate at the services, with burial to be in the Nevada Cemetery.

He was employed with the Mathison Motor Co., Ames and was a member of the American Legion, having served in World War I.

Mr. Wells is survived by his wife, Lillian, two sons, Gary of Nevada and Bruce, Des Moines; five sisters, Mrs. Stephana Montgomery, Mrs. Letha Gaynor, Mrs. Helen Piercy, Mrs. Ruth Frost and Mrs Jean Krist, all of Dallas, Tex.; a brother, Paul of Maxwell and five grandchildren.
