Services Held Monday for William R. Long

Services for William Roland Long, 78, of Collins, who died of a heart ailment Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Story County Hospital in Nevada, were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at The Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell. Burial was in Collins Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Long was born in Baxter and lived most of his life in Collins. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his son, Dick of Collins; two daughters, Bonnie Severson of Ames and Dorothy Dunshee of Collins and; two brothers, Eldon of Napa, Calif., and Raymond of Collins; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly the Des Moines Register, or the Newton (IA) Daily News.
