Carl Francis Veach
Carl Francis Veach, 73, of Nevada, IA, died Thursday, June 15, 1989 at Story County Hospital Long Term Care in Nevada. Cause of death was heart failure.
Veach was born April 29, 1916 in Seymour, IA, to Lloyd Abram Veach and Emma May Brown. He married Lesley Alcott on July 29, 1950 in Boone, IA.
Veach was retired from a career as a cement mason in the contstruction business. He was a veteran, serving in the army in World War II, during which time he was a prisoner of war for 16 months. He was a member of Collegiate Presbyterian Church in Ames.
Veach lived in the Nevada area for 21 years, moving from Ames, IA.
Survivors include Veach's wife, one son, Kenneth L. Veach of California; three step children, Steven Hall of Wyoming and Lorisa Hall and Carolyn Mallory of Colorado; three sisters, Icel Marie Hunt of Des Moines, IA; Orpha Atkinson of Burlington, IA; and Opal Tesdahl of Ames, IA; two brothers, Lloyd Veach of Ames, IA; and Kenneth B. Veach of Fresno, CA; and two grandchildren.
Services for Veach were held Monday, June 19 at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
