Died Monday June 3
Rites Wednesday

Mrs. Grant (Meta E.) Bollhoefer, 73, of rural Laurel, a lifelong resident of a farm north of Newton, died June 3 at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, at the First United Church of Christ, north building.

The Rev. Richard Welch, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery.

Survivors are a son, David, of Laurel; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Grace) Buckles and Mrs. Albert (Esther) Schmidt, both of rural Newton, 10 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lydia Lorenzen of Waterloo; and three half-sister, Marjorie Propp of Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. Martha Gaddis of Palm Desert, Calif., and Mrs. Phyllis Fowle of New York City, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1967, two half-sisters and a grandson.

She was a member of the First United Church of Christ.

The daughter of Henry and Minnie Meise Propp, she was born Dec. 1, 1900 in Jasper County and attended Marshall County Schools.

She was married Feb. 8, 1931 at St. John's Church north of Newton. ~ Newspaper unnamed but possibly, Des Moines Register or Newton (IA) Daily News.
