M. J. Britson died Wednesday

ROLAND -- Milford J. Britson, 69, Roland, died about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines following surgery.

A veteran of World War I, he was a lifetime resident of Roland.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Bergen Lutheran Church with the Rev. Howard Lybeck officiating. Burial will be at the Roland Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Soderstrum Funeral Home until 11 a.m. Saturday.

He is survived by his wife, Emma; two sons, Duane and Herbert, both of Racine, Wis., two daughters, Mrs. Frances Childers, Roland and Mrs. Eleanor Tilley, Roland; a sister, Mrs. Vernice Elliott, McCallsburg, and 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
