Adeline Vogtlin, 97, of Bethany Life Community in Story City, formerly of Gilbert and Ames, died Jan. 31, at Bethany Manor. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m., Monday Feb. 3, at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way, with a Funeral service at 11 a.m., Tuesday Feb. 4 at Memorial Lutheran Church, 2228 Lincoln Way, Ames; with Rev. David R. Beagley officiating.

Adeline Vogtlin was born January 26, 1917 in Fairmont, ND, the daughter of Andrew and Emma Matheason. She lived most of her life in Gilbert area. She married Fritz Vogtlin on April 2, 1938. She was a cook at ISU residence halls for 28 years.

She is survived by three daughters, Ilene Valdez of Whittier, Calif.; Shirley (John) Ross of Alexandria, Minn.; and Sharon Martin of Ames; a son, Fred (Linda) Vogtlin of Ames; ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Jeanette; brothers, Raymond and Ervin; and son in laws, Tony Valdez and Clarence Martin; and grandson, Thuan Quach.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to: Memorial Lutheran Church, Bethany Life Community and Heartland Senior Center.
