Callahan rites to be Tuesday

Mrs. Lena Callahan, 83, Nevada, died about 7 p.m. Saturday at the Oak Park Manor Nursing Home, where she had been a patient the past four months.

Born at Jamaica, she had been a resident of Nevada for 31 years.

She married Charles E. Callahan Sept. 19, 1906 at Dallas Center. Mrs. Callahan was a member of the Nevada Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, Charles H. Callahan, 2012 Ferndale Ave.; four daughters, Mrs. Gladys Stoneburner, Woodward, Mrs. Esther Stoneburner, Slater, Mrs. Gertrude Kaybrick, Aurora, Colo., and Mrs. Dorothy Prescott, Nevada, 18 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a brother, Harry Branning, Story City, and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Brown, Collins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, who died in 1962.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. from the Ryan Funeral Home, with the Rev. M. C. Shupe officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
