Chalfant rites set for Friday

Mrs. Lois Wier Chalfant, 84, 621 Sixth St., Nevada, died at her home about 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held Friday, at 1:30 p.m. from the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada with the Rev. M. C. Shupe officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada cemetery.

Born in 1880 near Story City, she was a resident of Story County her entire lifetime, and had lived in Nevada for 30 years. She was a member of the Nevada Methodist church, D.A.R., and Rebekah Lodge. She is survived by a brother, Charles Wier, Story City, and a sister, Mrs. Luella Sheffield, Knoxville.

Mrs. Chalfant was the aunt of Mrs. Walter Matsen, 145 Hyland Ave.
