JOHN L. KYLE

Funeral services for John L. Kyle, 63, farmer residing about three miles east of Ames on the Lincoln highway, he died at his farm home early Wednesday morning following a serious illness, will be held Sunday afternoon a 3 o'clock in the Congregational church at Ames, in charge of the Rev. H. K. Hawley.

Mr. Kyle was born in Story county March 5, 1870, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. William Kyle coming to America from Ireland. he has farmed here since his youth.

He leaves his wife, two sons, Harvey J. and George W., of [Ames; four grandchildren and] three sisters, Mrs. Charles Kingsbury of Ames, Mrs. M. E. Livingston and Miss Nan Kyle, a nurse, both of Orange, Calif. Mrs. Livingston and Miss Kyle are expected to arrive early Saturday morning.

Service Held Sunday For Farmer Living Near Ames

Many Ames friends, and friends from a distance came Sunday afternoon to attend the funeral service for John L. Kyle, 63, at the Congregational church. Mr. Kyle had been a member of the church for thirty-two years and had many close friends in this community. A large crowd attended the service conducted by the Rev. H. K. Hawley.

He died suddenly, Wednesday morning, April 26, at his home east of Ames. His death followed an acute gall stone attack, and despite his long illness, was a shock to many friends.

Family Survivors

He is survived by his wife and two sons, Harvey John south of Ames, and George Williams, southwest of Ames. There are four granddaughters, Jo Ann and Virginia, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Kyle, and Howard and Patricia, children of Mr. and Mrs. George Kyle.

Three sisters, Miss Nan Kyle and Mrs. M. E. Livingston of Orange, Calif., and Mrs. C. L. Kingsbury of Ames, also surviving him. He was married to Lau[ra] A. Koehl Dec. 25, 1901 in Des Moines. he was born on a farm southeast of Ames in Grant township, March 5, 18709, and has spent practically all of his life in farming. He was of Scotch-Irish parentage, his mother being born at Glasgow, Scotland. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Kyle, came to America from Ireland.
