George Marion Marsh, 1020 Ninth street, Nevada, was born Nov. 6, 1882 in Boone county, Kentucky. He ws the fourth child of George and Lucy Marsh, in a family of seven children. His age at passing was 71 years.

The deceased is survived by his wife, Anna, three sisters, three brothers and sixteen nephews and nieces.

The brothers and sisters are as follows: Pearl Marsh, Elwood, Ind.; Annabelle Lancaster, Walton, Ky.; Walter March, Petersburg, Ky.; Cleveland Marsh, Walton, Ky.; Minnie Karch, Elwood, Ind.; John Marsh, Swaledale, Ia.

The early life of Mr. Marsh was spent on the farm of his parents in Boone county, Kentucky. At the age of sixteen he joined the Richwood, Ky., Presbyterian church.

In 1915 he came to Story county, Iowa and had resided here until the time of his death.

On February 20, 1944 Mr. Marsh was united in marriage with Ione Hakes, who preceded him in death. They resided on a farm northwest of Nevada where Mrs. Marsh passed away in 1934.

Mr. Marsh retired from the farm in 1945 coming into Nevada. He was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson who had been with him since the death of Mrs. Marsh. Mr. Johnson's death occurred at the Marsh home five years ago.

On June 28, 1954, Mr. Marsh was united in marriage to Mrs. Anna Johnson, his death occurring July 1, 1954 at Portland, Ore. while he and Mrs. Marsh were visiting at the home of a cousin. Death was due to a heart attack.

In the death of Mr. Marsh, Story county loses one of her very highly respected citizens whose friends are numbered by all who knew him.
