ROLAND "RON" FULLER

Roland "Ron" Fuller, 73, of Nevada IA, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1988, at Long Term Care Center, Story County Hospital, Nevada.

He was born Sept. 29, 1907, at Bridgewater IA to Charles Walter Fuller and Sadie McConnell.

On June 1, 1952, he was married to Stella Beatrice Bown at Eldora IA.

Mr. Fuller moved to Nevada from Newton IA in 1952. He owned and operated Stella's Restaurant in Nevada and also worked for Crow's Seed Co. and Iowa State University in food service.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Nevada, the American Legion, and was active in RSVP Volunteers.

He served in World War II and received the Purple Heart.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at the United Methodist Church in Nevada with Rev. William Ballard officiating. Interment will be in Nevada Cemetery, Nevada.

Survivors include three sons, Francis, Larry and Roland Jr.; two daughters, Virginia and Alice; two stepdaughters, Gerry Hodgson of Nevada and Pat Haning of Bondurant IA; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Stella Fuller on June 15, 1987, and one son, Gary.

Visitation was Monday, Jan. 4, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, 5th St. and Lincoln Hwy., Nevada. The family received friends from 3 to 9 p.m. A memorial has been established.
