Rex Welty died Thursday

Rex E. Welty, 67, Nevada, died about 8:45 a.m. Thursday at Mary Greeley Hosptial. Born at Milford, he was a longtime resident of Story County. Mr. Welty was a newspaperman. He married Mildred Mullihan at Elkhart June 19, 1926. Mr. Welty is survived by his wife, Mildred; a daughter Mrs. Phyllis Connell of Greenfield; two granddaughters, and a sister, Mrs. Merle E. Smith, Los Angeles, Calif.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday from the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada with the Rev. M. C. Shupe Nevada Evangelical United Brethren Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery. The body will lie in state ai the Ryan Funeral Home until time for services.
