NELS H. LARSEN
Nils H. Larsen, 85, resident of Nevada since 1875, died at his home there Thursday* from complications incident to old age.
Mr. Larsen was a native of Denmark, where he was born November 10, 1852. he learned the miller's trade in Denmark and worked at it as a young man. He came to America in 1873 and stopped first in Jersey City, where he worked in the steel mills for about two years.
It was two years later, or in 1875, that he came west and located in Nevada and there he met his bride, Christina Knudsen, to whom he was married at Boone in 1843, and lived happily for over 55 years.
Mr. Larsen leaves besides his wife Christina, six sons and two daughters. The children are Lewis Larsen of Nevada, Mrs. Mary Childs of Hollywood, Calif., Anthony Larsen of Nevada, Otis Larsen of Farmington, Mich., Lillian Grey of Roanoke, Va., Lester Larsen of Chattanooga, Tenn., George Larsen of Nevada, and Chester Larsen of Minneapolis, besides numerous grandchildren and other relatives.
SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Nels H. Larson died on 4 August 1938. Being of Danish descent, I am inclined to believe the correct spelling of his name is "Larsen," however his monument in the Nevada Cemetery reads "LARSON" and his children are Larsons.
