Mason Hines, 41, of Huxley formerly of Nevada, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013, at his home in Huxley.

Mason was born June 6, 1972, in Ames to Mark Hines and Mary (O’Mara) Hines. He graduated in 1990 from Nevada High School and worked for Midwest Cylinder Head as a machinist. Mason was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Nevada and the American Motorcycle Association District #22. He enjoyed motor cross, riding his Harley, camping, gardening and his dogs.

Mason is survived by his wife Cybil of Huxley; his son Connor of Nevada; his step-children, Jackson and Jonah of Huxley; his father: Mark Hines of Des Moines; his mother and step-father: Mary and Wade Krieg of Des Moines; and his brothers, Luke Hines of Des Moines and Jacob Hines of Bondurant. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada (1418 Fawcett Parkway). Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2013, also at the funeral home. Cremation will follow visitation. Inurnment will be in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mason Hines Memorial Fund.
