Little Kenneth Frey Was Buried Yesterday
Funeral services for little Kenneth Frey, 11, who died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Fannie Nitcher, corner Second and Avenue K Wednesday evening* at 5 o'clock were held from the Methodist church Thursday afternoon Rev. Jackson Giddens in charge. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery.
The lad had been a sufferer for about three years from an affliction that had made him an invalid for the greater part of the time. At first a growth on his hip that later reached his spine developed. It was of a cancerous nature. He was taken to Rochester, Minn., and given radium treatment by the Mayo surgeons and for a time it was benefitted and it appeared as though he might be cured. About a year ago, however, he began to get worse again and in September of last year took to his bed and was never able to leave the house again.
Everything possible to save the lad and alleviate his suffering was done but during the later months of his life he suffered untold torture and pain and death came as a relief to him in his suffering.
The mother is extended the sympathy of the entire community in her house of great sorrow over the loss of her only child.
