JOHN S. EDWARDS

John S. Edwards, Civil War veteran and long time resident of Nevada and Story county, passed away Saturday* afternoon, at his home, after several months of failing health due to his advancing years.

The death of Mr. Edwards, who would have been 92 years had he lived until Nov. 22 next, was not unexpected. Since suffering a stroke of paralysis about a month ago his condition has been growing gradually weaker.

Mr. Edwards, a native of Wales, has been a resident of Story county for many years, living on a farm south of Nevada before retiring.

He leaves his wife and one daughter, the latter being Miss Carrie Edwards, principal of Junior high school in Nevada.
