MRS. CHAS. R. CARR.
Mrs. Chas. R. Carr, aged about 46 years, died at her home three miles of Nevada Tuesday morning, May 18, 1903. Mrs. Carr has been a sufferer from tumors for some time and had only Saturday underwent an operation for the same. She appeared to be getting along very nicely until Monday when there was a change for the worse; and she died the next morning.
Mrs. Carr was reared in Illinois coming to Iowa about 25 years ago and married Mr. Carr at Ames in 1888* and since that time has lived in or near Nevada. Mr. Carr was one time an employee of the Boardman firm.
Mrs. Carr leaves a husband, a little boy and a girl to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother.
The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Sanford.
*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Charles R. Carr married two of the the Davis sisters: On 30 December 1888 he married Matilda "Mattie" Davis (who had previously been married to Mr. Metcalf) in Ames, Story County, Iowa and Elizabeth Emeline Davis. Both were daughters of David Davis and Minerva Sloan. In 1908, he married Mary Ashford, daughter of Thomas M. Ashford and Phebe Hoffstat, in Nevada, Story County, Iowa.
