LUVERNE HAYNES

Luverne Haynes, 72, of 3116 NE 48th Ave., Des Moines IA, a former resident of Nevada IA, died Friday, Jan. 15, 1988, at his home. Death was due to a heart attack.

Mr. Haynes was born Aug. 31, 1916 at Spencer NE to William T. and Viola Guge Haynes. He had been a resident of Des Moines to past eight years.

Survivors in clude a daughter, Shirley Ashley of Des Moines; a son, Veldon Duane Haynes of Sheldahl IA; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia Frye of Nevada and Mildred Love of Ames IA; two brothers, Barney of Nevada and Virgil of Huxley IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gene, and his wife Ruth, who died in 1963.

Mr. Haynes was a retired carpenter and a World War II veteran.

Funeral services will be held from Chet Ryan Mortuary, 5th St. and G Ave., Nevada, Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Daniel officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery, Nevada.
