Obituary
Frank B. Lough was born in Story County, September 2, 1916, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Lough of 1028 1/2 Sixth street, Nevada and at the time of his death was 37 years, two months and 14 days old.
He attended the Nevada schools graduating from the Nevada high school wit the class of 1935.
He was married September 15, 1938 to Virginia Ruth Pritchard of Collins and following his marriage he engaged in farming for his father-in-law, F. G. Pritchard of Collins. The family also lived one year in Brooklyn, Ia., when Frank was employed by the Hubbard Lumber Co.
For the past three years he had been employed as machinist at the Atomic Energy Commission at Iowa State College, Ames.
Frank's illness covered a period dating since the spring of 1952. He made his first trip to the Mayo Clinic last January, undergoing surgery Jan. 21, 1953. He returned home and resumed his work until ill health again caused him to enter the Story County hospital where he was a patient for five days until making a second trip to Rochester, Minn.
During the three weeks spent there on this second trip, as previously, everything that was medical skill could do was done, but was unavailing. He was brought home and to the Story County hospital about 2:30 p. m. Monday, Nov. 16, where he passed away a few hours later.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia and ten year old son, Galen, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Lough. His one sister, Wilna Lough Brown, preceded him in death in 1936.
