Saturday services for Claire Barnhart

Claire J Barnhart, 67, 421 East Sixth St., died April 30 at Mary Greeley Hospital Services are Saturday at a.m. from St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. William F. Siefkes of ---. Burial is in the Nevada Cemetery, Nevada.

Mr. Barnhart was born March 22, 1908 in Oskaloosa. He and Eva Jordan were married Feb 22, 1934 in Mar. She preceded him in death in 1972. On Jan. 6, 1973, he and Esther Schoff were in Ames.

Mr. Barnhart came to Ames in 1946 as a retired Naval lieutenant commander. He worked for the City of Ames water department for 12 years and for the past 13 years was employed by the National Animal Disease Laboratory.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, James of Wheaton, Ill., Deane of ---, and Brian, 420 East Seventh St.; a daughter, Patricia Nicholson of Ames; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Paul and Homer both of ----; and three sisters, Lois Thompson and Pearl Speas of --- and Ruth Hayes of Des Moines.

In addition to his first wife, Mr. Barnhart was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Jerry in 1939 and David in 1963. Friends may call at Stevens Memorial Chapel Thursday evening until time of service.
