MRS. FRANK ALLEN
Mrs. Frank Allen, 60, died at Iowa sanitarium Monday evening after a brief illness, following a stroke and other heart complication, suffered on Friday of last week.* Mrs. Allen was born Jessie May McKim, one of two daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette McKim, pioneers of Milford township, January 28, 1882.
She grew to womanhood in that community and was married to Frank Allen, son of a neighboring family, in September 1901. The home was established in Milford township and there eight children were born to them, six of whom survive the parents.
Teh surviving children are Phillip, Mac and George, all of Milford township, John who is now living in Los Angeles; Ruth now Mrs. Alvin Nelson, of Richland township, and Mary, wife of Homer Vilmont of south of Ames. In addition to the children and several grandchildren she leaves on sister, Mrs. Cora Brown of Whiting who has been spending the winter months with Mrs. Allen and was here on a visit but a few days before Mrs. Allen was taken ill.
Mrs. Allen had long been an active member of the Central Presbyterian church of Nevada, and since moving to Nevada about four years ago she had become a member of the Social Hour club, of which she was president at the time of her death.
Funeral services, in charge of Rev. Jos. M. Kennedy, were held at the home Wednesday afternoon, with interment in the Nevada cemetery by the side of the husband who died August 10, 1940.
