Mary S. Shearman
July 18, 1903 to February 14, 1995

Services for Mary S. Shearman, Nevada will be Friday, Feb. 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Lutheran Church. Pastor Forrest Chaffee will handle the services.

Shearman died Tuesday, Feb. 14 at the Story County Long Term Care Facility, Nevada.

Shearman was born in Nevada to Rasmus and Bodil Sorensen in 1903. She was a 1921 graduate of Nevada High School and a 1923 graduate of AIB.

Shearman married Herb Shearman in Nevada on March 22, 1941. She was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada and a lifetime member of the Wa-Tan-Ye Club. She was a member of the Women's Legion Auxilliary and a lifetime resident of Nevada.

Shearman was employed with Iowa Electric Light and Power company for 25 years in Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herb, in 1984; five brothers; three sisters; and an infant son.

She is survived by daughter Rita Carnine, Ankeny, and three grandsons.

Visitation will be Thursday from noon to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Interment will be at Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home.
