Dolores Marie Maynard, age 84, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
Dolores was born in Roland, Iowa on March 3, 1929, the daughter of Arthur and Helga (Kvalem) Britson. Dolores received her teaching certificate from the Iowa State Teacher’s College and she taught kindergarten for two years. On June 1, 1951, Dolores married William “Billy” Maynard in Atlanta, Georgia. Billy preceded her in death on February 22, 2008.
Dolores and Bill moved to Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin in 1969. Dolores worked as a receptionist at the Fort Medical Center in Fort Atkinson and at the Fireside for three years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson and she volunteered for the Respite Program held at Trinity Church. She enjoyed baking and cooking.
Surviving are: Her children: John Maynard, Fort Atkinson, WI and Molly Maynard, Blue Mound, WI, and Grandsons: Sean Maynard and Nicholas Maynard.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Billy, a son Patrick, a sister Betty Ritland, and three brothers: Ralph Britson, Lauren Britson, and William Britson.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 29, 2013, at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 314 Barrie Street, Fort Atkinson, WI with Rev. Bryan Engfer and Rev. Bill Beyer officiating. Interment will be with her husband in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, Wisconsin.
Friends may call after 10AM on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson until the time of the services.
