Mrs. McGriff died in Arizona

Mrs. Ada McGriff, 81, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Sunday at her home.*

She was born in 1884 at Redfield and was a resident of Ames prior to her moving to Phoenix in 1960.

Mrs. McGriff was a member of the First Christian Church, and of Laura Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and Judea White Shrine and was a 58-year Rebekah.

She is survived by two sons, Howard S. McGriff, Red Bluff, Calif. and William Harry of Jordan; a daughter, Mrs. Clyde McKee, Phoenix, Ariz., two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. McGriff, former sheriff of Story and Dallas counties who died in 1941, a son, Vernon and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday from the Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley P. Borden, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established and gifts may be left with Roger Alley, First National Bank.
