SERVICES FOR IRA COOKS HELD MONDAY

NEVADA -- Funeral services were conducted from the Morfoot funeral home here Monday afternoon for Ira Crooks, who died of cancer at his home here Saturday afternoon. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery. Mr. Crooks had been in failing health for some time and had been confined to his home for past several weeks.

A native of Bloomington, Ill., Mr. Crooks came to Nevada more than 40 years ago, engaging in the livery business. He had served as deputy sheriff of Story county under the administration of Warrick, Gretten and Ricketts.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Harry Clausen of Ames. Three sisters, Mrs. B H. White of Ames, Mrs. Elizabeth Siddal of Salem, Ore. and Mrs. Frank Whiteman of Mankato, Minn. and two brothers, C. E. Crooks and Andrew Crooks, both of Bellflower, Ill. also survive.

Mr. Crooks parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Crooks, lived for many years in Ames, where they died a few years ago.
