Jennie B. Christy, 99 of Story City and formerly of Nevada, died of pneumonia Thursday at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services were this morning at First United Methodist Church in Nevada, with the Rev. Steve Williams and the Rev. Sandy Amenson officiating. Burial was in Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Jennie B. Christy was born March 18, 1902, in Story County to William and Rose (Guge) Brodie. She graduated from Maxwell High School and Normal School. She married Carl Samuel Christy March 16, 1922, in Nevada. She was a homemaker. She worked as a bookkeeper for Graphic Forms in Nevada. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Nevada and Nevada Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by one sister, Roselma Hansen of Story City; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons; six brothers; and two sisters.

A memorial has been established for the Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City.
