From Nevada Evening Journal August 27, 1938

Ardis, the three-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Harrison of southwest of Nevada died last night at 11:25 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital, Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at the Nevada Methodist Episcopal church Monday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. Sidles of Ames in charge. Burial will be in the Nevada cemetery.

Death was due to streptococcus infection.

Ardis Colleen leaves to mourn her death her parents, two brothers Orville Glenn age 9, and Don Richard, age 7 years.

Final Rites Held for Harrison Child

Ardis Colleen, only daughter of Orville and Mable Harrison was born May 4, 1935 near Cambridge, Iowa, and passed away Friday, August 27, 1938 in the Methodist Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 3 years, 3 months and 22 days. Ardis was taken ill a little more than a week ago. In spite of all that willing hands could do she departed this life to spend all eternity with Jesus. She leaves to mourn her loss, her father, mother and two brothers, Orville Gene, age 9 and Don Richard, age 7. One grandmother, one grandfather and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ardis will be greatly missed by all including her Sunday school teacher, Miss Young, who has one little empty chair in her class.
