Harold Eugene Neuendorf, 82 of Zearing died on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Zearing Health Care Center in Zearing. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30 at the Bethel United Methodist Church, 304 East Main Street in Zearing with Pastor Tom Poppe officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be held at Noon in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Harold was born on October 12, 1930 in Kamrar to Edward Richard and Henrietta (Hoisington) Neuendorf. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On April 22, 1960, Harold married Karin Hinton in Eldora. He was employed for 26 years as a lineman for Iowa Electric. Harold was a longtime member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #116 in Zearing. He loved his family and enjoyed working, bowling and traveling.

Harold is survived by two daughters, Lisa (Ardee) Whitaker of Colo and Lori (Rob) Lodestein of Nevada; a son Lynn (Deana) Neuendorf of Zearing; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister Carolyn (Darwin) Peterson of Alden.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and three sisters.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 29 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. again at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Zearing.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Harold and his family.
