Amiel Mathison Rites Held Saturday

Funeral services for Amiel Mathison, 67, Ames automobile dealer, who died Wednesday, were held at First Congregational church, the Rev. Murray Allen officiating. Burial was in Ames.

Mr. Mathison died shortly after noon Wednesday at the Ames Hospital. Death was attributed to a stroke.

Born in Denmark, he came to Story City in 1923, leaving for Ames in 1927. Prior to that time he was an automobile dealer in Gilbert. He was member of the Kiwanis and of the board of directors of the Ames Chamber of Commerce. He was a past president of the Ames Building and Loan.

Survivors include one son, Richard K. Mathison of Ames; a daughter, Mrs. Awanda Roth of Storm Lake; three brothers, Pete of Nevada, Arthur, Ames and Earl, Claremont, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Dickey and Mrs. Helen Korf, both of Los Angeles, and six grandchildren.
