Josie Swenson died Monday

Josie T. Swenson, 72, Story City, died Monday morning at Mary Greeley Hospital.

Services are Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Ilim Lutheran Church in Randall, with the Rev. Donald Berg officiating. Burial is in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Randall.

She was born July 4, 1901 in Hamilton County to Swen and Julia Swenson. Miss Swenson taught fifth grade in Jewell and Reinbeck before retiring. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church.

Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Mabel Larson, Rose Swenson, Sylina Swenson, Mrs. Ina Larson and Mrs. Dora Hougland, all of Story City and three brothers, Hallie Roland; Sherman Reuben, both of Jewell.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. The body will lie in state at the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City.
