Obituary
SEVERT ALSAGERSevert Alsager, 78, Story City, son of Lars and Kari Alsager, was born at Aakre, Sonhordlund, Norway Aug. 30, 1886 and died April 8, 1965.
He came to the United States as a young man and received his citizenship in 1936.
Mr. Alsager was in partnership in Leknes and Alsager Meat Market, Story City. he later joined his brothers in the Alsager Brothers Meat Market. He retired in 1964 due to ill health.
He married Borkhild Eike in 1931.
Mr. Alsager is survived by his son, Charles, Des Moines, a brother, Johan, Aakre, Norway; two sisters, Serena Alsager and Helena Kjillesvik, both of Skaanevik, Norway, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Borghild, a sister and four brothers.
He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 12, 1965 from the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City, with the Rev. Harold T. Masted officiating. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
