M. L. BORGEN
Martin L. Borgen, many years a furniture dealer and undertaker in this city, died at his home here early Monday morning aged about seventy years. His death was not generally looked for and it occasions both surprises and regret. Mr. Borgen was a native of Norway and came to this country not less than forty years ago. He had lived and done business in Nevada City since sometime in the '70s, had served on the city council and had shown himself in numerous ways an active and useful citizen. He is survived by his wife and four children, John R. of Hartland, Minn., Clyde of Des Moines and L.O. and Grace of Nevada City. His funeral will be conducted from his late residence at two thirty Wednesday afternoon. The non-resident children, J.R. with Mrs. B. and Clyde are home, called by their father's illness and death.
