Milo Martin Thorson, son of Erick and Julia Thorson, was born in Marseilles, Illinois, June 24, 1891. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran churches there.

In 1908, he moved with his parents to Iowa in this community and has been a member of Immanuel Lutheran church these 50 years.

He was united in marriage to Jeannette Wierson of Story City on December 31, 1912. She passed away January 21, 1937, leaving six children, which were born to this union.

Mr. Thorson had been engaged in faming in the immediate community until a year aso when he retired from active farming, but cose to continue living on the farm.

On April 3, 1948, he was united in marriage to Rillie Hendrickson of Story City.

Last fall, Mr. Thorson's health began ato fail. On March 6th, he was admitted to the Story City Memorial Hospital, where he remained these five months, patiently bearing his intense suffering. He passed away Thursday evening, July 31st baving rached the age of 67 years 1 month and 7 days.

Mr. Thorson is survived by his wife, Rillie; three sons, Jeffries, Onel and Arle, all of Ames, Iowa; three daughters, Mazel (Mrs. Donald Johnson) of Ames; Maxine, (Mrs. Milo Hovick) of Story City, and Jona (Mrs. Jerral Lenning) of Ames; two step-daughters, Burdella (Mrs. Arnold Peterson) of Story City; Arlene (Mrs. Kenneth Kriner) of Des Moines; 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lewis Hauge and Mrs. John Hauge of Story City; Mrs. Albert Boyd of Seattle, Washington; and one brother, Ira, of Story City. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
