Charlotte (Solyst) Brandt

CLEAR LAKE

Charlotte (Solyst) Brandt, of 501 N. Shore Drive, died Sunday (June 1, 1997) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. Fourth St., with the Rev. Dean Hess and the Rev. Kermit Roisen officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn
Cemetery, Story City.

Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., and will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.

Charlotte (Solyst) Brandt was born June 16, 1916, in Story County, daughter of Olaf and Melinda (Nelson) Solyst.

She married Clarence ``Ted'' Brandt on Nov. 7, 1937, in Hubbard.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence ``Ted'' Brandt, Clear Lake; one son, Larry Brandt of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Karen Black of Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Richard Black, Seattle, Wash.; Matthew Brandt, Columbia, Mo.; Cherylyn Black, Seattle, Wash., and Patrick Brandt, Orlando, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Amelia Gabrielle, Noah Sebastian and Elysabeth Malen, all of Seattle, Wash.; three sisters, Judith Freese, Ames; Gladys Fulmer, Des Moines, and Irene Lumley, Clear Lake; one brother, Jessie Solyst, Story City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Lester Solyst.
