From Nevada Representative January 24, 1913
Charles See, who died at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines on Saturday last, January 19, was buried from the Morfoot & Dickey under taking rooms on Monday afternoon the service consisting of a prayer at the gave by Rev. Hardaway. An aflection of his toe last September, and the recovery from that operation not being satisfactory he went in November to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines where his leg was taken off. This second operation, however, did not cure the trouble, and he passed fro bad to worse until his death as stated. He was a native of Illinois but came to Story county with his father's family in the earliest of the pioneer days and lived over on East Indian. After he had grown up he was down in Missouri for several years and afterwards in Grinnell in this state, but he returned after a time, to Nevada and had his home here for the greater part of his life, his age being nearly sixty four. He was the last survivor of eleven children, and between himself and his brother Silas there was an especial affection, they both being bachelors, having their home together here until the latter's death, not quite a year ago and having their lives insured for each other's benefit. His occupation was that of a ditcher, in which occupation he showed himself competent. His nearest relatives surviving are thirty eight nephews and nieces but he had scattered about this portion of Iowa a much larger number of more distant connections.
