Burdella R. Peterson
Burdella Peterson, 90,, of Story City died of congestive heart failure on Monday, Nov. 22, 1999 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at 1:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Story City with Pastor Don Preston officiating. Burial was in Story City Cemetery.
Burdella R. Peterson was born April 27, 1909 in Waterloo, Iowa the daughter of Bennie and Rillie (Nassen) Peterson. She married Arnold W. Peterson on September 20, 1928. They farmed northwest of Story City until moving to Story City in 1953. She was a sales clerk at Haynes Jewelry for many years in Story City. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she co-founded the Kentucky Supper and was a former Sunday School Teacher and assistant Sunday School superintendent and a former president of Ladies Aid and Missionary Society.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Doolittle of Story City; a son, Kenneth Peterson of Story City; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on July 2, 1992; an infant brother; and a sister, Arlene Kriner.
