EDWARD OLIA OMVIG

Funeral services for Edward Olia Omvig, 85, Des Moines, were held March 9 from Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City, with the Rev. C. A. Gisselquist officiating. Burial was in the Story City Cemetery.

Mr. Omvig was born Feb. 25, 1885 on a farm northwest of Story City in Hamilton County. He died March 5 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

Mr. Omvig was married to Anna Helen Dosland, Jan. 28, 1927 at Ames. He lived in Ames several years, later moving to a fram north of Ames where he lived until the death of his wife. He continued to do farm work for a number of years including 11 years at the Iowa State University dairy farm. Upon retirement he made his home with his daughter at Ankeny, later moving with her family to Des Moines.

Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Audrey Dahl, Des Moines; a sister, Mrs. Louisa Stout of Webster City; a brother, Emil A. Omvig of Frederika and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Thore and Alice Mason Omvig, he was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.

Pallbearers were C. W. Davison, John Oswald, John Lewis, Leonard Dosland, Conrald Dahl and Glen Dosland.
