Clara G. Tokheim

Clara G. Tokheim, 102, of Story City, died of heart failure on Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999 at Bethany Manor Nursing Home in Story City. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethany Manor Chapel with the Rev. Tom Hunt and Chaplain Sandy Anenson officiating. Burial was in the Story City Cemetery.

Clara was born Jan. 28, 1896 south of Roland to Berger and Maggie (Johnson) Sevdy. She married Sam Tokheim in Floyd County, Iowa, and lived in Story City most of her life. Clara was a homemaker, a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was active in women's groups.

Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie and husband John Michaelson of Story City; two sons, Jerry and wife Ramona Tokheim of Edina, Minnesota and John and wife Mary Ann Tokheim of Menomonie, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Jane Hovick and Jacki Foley; and three great-grandchildren, Wendy and Christopher Hovick, and Katie Foley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and three brothers.
