Berger Imsland, Mrs. Ruth Fasold joint rites Friday

Joint funeral services for Berger A. Imsland, 84, Story City, and his daughter, Mrs. Ruth Fasold, 56, 6404 Allison, Des Moines, will be Friday at 2 p.m. from Bethany Lutheran Church, McCallsburg, with the Rev.'s Rhuben O. Aga of St. Petri Lutheran Church, Story City and Perry Heller, officiating. Burial will be in the McCallburg cemetery.

Mr. Imsland and his daughter were killed in a two-car collision in Nevada about 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Imsland was born Oct. 1, 1886 at Stavanger, Norway. He came to the United States with his family in 1899.

In 1913, he married Selma Barkve. She preceded him in death March 11, 1920. He married Ellen Marie Axland Aug. 29, 1925. She preceded him in death Jan. 17, 1969.

Survivors include four sons, Irvin and Theodore Imsland, both of Marshalltown, Eugene Imsland, Snohomish, Wash. and Donald Imsland, Minneapolis, Minn.; a daughter, Bernice Imsland, Waterloo; 11 grandchildren, a great-grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Sampson, Garden City.

In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by four brothers.

Mrs. Fasold was born Feb. 3, 1914 at McCallsburg. Her parents were Berger and Selma Imsland.

She was married to Max Arthur Fasold May 2, 1941. He preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1969.

She is survived by four brothers and a sister.
