Marcella Anderson
Sept. 24, 1922-Sept. 23, 2002Marcella Anderson, 79, of Ames, died today of acute leukemia at Israel Family Hospice House. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bethesda Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Glenn Kappelmann officiating. Burial will be in Story City Cemetery.
Marcella Anderson was born Sept. 24, 1922, in Story City, the daughter of C. C. "Curnie" and Marie (Christiansen) Larson. She married Bervine "Beno" Anderson Dec. 12, 1943. They farmed for 25 years. She was with the phone company and also was an information clerk in admissions at Mary Greeley Medical Center. She retired in 1987. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two son, Douglas Anderson of Yuma, Ariz., and Peter Anderson of Des Moines; three daughters, Judy Krueger of Potomac, Md., Marcia Strum of Gridley, Ill., and Susan Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Maxine Jones of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother; and one sister.
Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to Bethesda Lutheran Church.
